Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel have received summons from Mumbai Police and were asked to appear before the officials on November 23 and 24, as reported by ANI. The actress and her sister were summoned over ‘objectionable comments’ made in tweets on social media, aimed at spreading communal tension. According to the latest reports, the Thalaivi actress and her sister Rangoli Chandel moved the Bombay High Court to dismiss the FIR registered against her by Mumbai Police.

As per a report by PTI, Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli’s lawyer, Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee informed that the Ranaut sisters have filed a petition, demanding to quash the FIR. He said, “Kangana and Rangoli have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court for quashing of the FIR and the magistrate's order." The report also stated that the FIR that the Mumbai Police registered against the Ranaut sisters was followed by the orders passed by the Bandra Magistrate Court. Reportedly, the Bandra Magistrate Court directed the Mumbai Police to carry out an inquiry against Ranaut and her sister after a complaint was lodged against them.

According to the report, Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer also explained that the petition filed by the actress has asked the court to stay the summons issued against Rangoli and her, asking them to appear before the officials for questioning. Siddiquee also said that the petition also seeks a direction to the police to not take any crucial steps against them.
